Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka Shakar, one of the American and British sitarist. She was awarded the British House of Commons' Shield, which is the youngest and the first female to receive it. Alongside receiving nine Grammy nominations She was also the first Indian-born musician to perform at the award ceremony. Anoushka Shakar, a young emerging superstar on the Indian Sitar is Anoushka. She is a scholar and granddaughter of legendary Ravi Shankar. Her birthplace was in London in 1982. She was a young girl who travelled between London and New Delhi. At the age of 13, her first show was in New Delhi took place. Later she moved into Encinitas CA where she graduated from High School with honours in 1999. Even though she's very young Anouskha is an accomplished performer and recording record. She has been accompanying her father on stage for several years. She released her debut album in 1998. debuted Anourag as her debut single album. The album was released in 2002. her Grammy nominated album Live At Carnegie Hall. She has appeared at many important venues across the world. Anoushka Shakar's talents are not just limited to music. Bapi: The love of My Live is her 2002 book, which was a tribute Ravi Shankar. In 2003, she appeared on Dance Like a Man as a Bharat Natyam artist. Anoushka shankar is a rising celebrity and her popularity will keep on growing. Anoushka is a native of England however, she spent the majority of her childhood between London and Delhi. She then moved to California and went to the high school there. Anoushka started her music studies when she was nine. Four years later she played her first appearance on the sitar in Delhi at her father's 75th birthday celebration. Anoushka's father toured around across the world with her and she also gained a variety of experiences. When she was still at her teens, Anoushka performed at Carnegie Hall during Peter Gabriel's WOMAD concert. It is the House of Commons Shield was awarded an award from the British Parliament as the pre-eminent Asian Arts musician. She is the only woman and is the smallest recipient of the award.
